1329730 2013-02-24 20:05:00 April 24th, Dunedin.

I won't be going as it's in Dunedin and have ANZAC day commitments, anyone here actually going to go?

1329731 2013-02-24 20:50:00 Any idea why they're playing in Dunedin? And for one show only? WalOne (4202)
1329732 2013-02-24 21:50:00 No idea.... I suspect it maybe a ploy that a lot of big bands are using.... going to a small country for the first time, pick a low key destination, chances of selling out rise, then the mad advertising of a second show due to first show sold out, everyone makes more money.

To try and get money to pay off the debt created by the DCC in building the Stadium (or Farry's Folly to as it's often referred to by Dunedinites) ... HOWEVER ... the DCC have probably spent a sh!tload of ratepayers money to entice them here and the concert will probably run at a loss for everyone but Aerosmith.

Makes sense, except in this case, it's going to cost more to stage one show in Dunedin as opposed to Auckland .

Steven Tyler looks as though he's on his last legs anyway, may be they want to see if he's going to survive the heady frisson of a Dunedin appearance first . . .

1329735 2013-02-25 00:33:00 Because we have a kick ass venue for it down here. When Elton John came, people from all over the south island came down for that so you still get big numbers attending. Alex B (15479)
1329736 2013-02-25 00:44:00 Why is so much happening when I have just committed all my money to upgrading to a more reliable car? First Paul Simon comes down south, and now Aerosmith too. It would have been much easier to say no to them if they were only playing in Auckland like most bands do. Greven (91)

1329738 2013-02-25 01:13:00 According to the odt this morning . Tyler says that liv said scenery in nz amazing from when filming LOTR and as they were going to Australia they thought they would do a nz concert .

Choose Dunedin because the stadium is covered so weather immune and much bigger than any other venue in nz (including Auckland)

Ps antistadium comments are getting boring . Get over yourself . Its been built and no one will take it over so you jght as well enjoy some of the events

Someone should tell him that he shouldn't wear blue.

Oh, sorry, Steve's on the right
