| 1329180 | 2013-02-21 00:21:00 | My brother and his 6 used to eat breakfast there every Sunday, occasionally joined by me, Mrs Micro and our 3. All that glass gave the place a pleasant airy atmosphere. Quite gay really | BBCmicro (15761) | ||

| 1329182 | 2013-02-21 03:22:00 | Yes. As well as the glass roof there was greenery everywhere, running water, different seating levels. Not exactly Caesar's Palace but definitely an air of gaiety | BBCmicro (15761) | ||

Not exactly Caesar's Palace but definitely an air of gaiety The era I recall was about 10 - 20 years ago when it was a popular place for working breakfasts and lunch etc. A straight pub, it was also popular for an after 5 meeting place and later in the evening as a "pick up joint". It changed hands about 10 years ago and for the time until it closed to enable the motorway extension to go through, it increasingly had a gay clientele, especially in the later hours. Now the motorway extension is complete and the place is refurbished, it is about to re launch. What flavour it adopts is anybody's guess but whatever, for the first six months of its new life it will be the favourite of the fashionable anything-goes set. |
