| 1351659 | 2013-08-21 04:36:00 | If task manager opens when you press ctrl-alt-del go to task manager / file / run new task . Type explorer.exe does the desktop come up? Or since it boots into normal windows or safe mode / networking. Put teamviewer on it (just run it / select personal dont install it). Give me the id and pw for it in a PM | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

| 1351664 | 2013-08-21 04:54:00 | Hmm looks like that shows something similar to the FBI warning, except its a warning from NZ police. It displays fake messages, saying pay up Info about that here (www.bleepingcomputer.com). So it is ransomware youre seeing, or removing |

| 1351666 | 2013-08-21 23:52:00 | Update: since Microsoft Security Essentials detected & removed Trojan: Win32/Urausy.E I reinstalled the hdd in the laptop & it boots. I felt to be safe I would run Hitman - it removed one startup item I tried to run Hitman from a usb drive - failed Tried to run Kaspersky from a cd - failed Is there a windows based scanner that is recommended as a scan to ensure the laptop is no longer infected. The laptop has Emsisoft AntiMalware installed on it. |
