The seller volunteered to carry out some packing and by description it would be very thorough, so I paid an increment of 20% for packaging into two separate lots. To cut to the chase, the best shipping quote was $85.33 from depot Masterton to depot Auckland and the next best was $258 door to door. All up that was 30% higher, so we ended up with a net price of $86 per chair and next best quote was $117 per chair. It was an uphill rise from there on. We only need two of the four, so we will recoup some of that outlay by selling the other two, a temporary benefit which Mrs T will promptly demolish by getting six chairs re-upholstered to create a matched set!
