Windows 7 Home Premium Acer Aspire E1-571 laptop boots to a white screen - with an active mouse will NOT boot into safe mode - cycles back to normal mode. research revealed conflicting reasons. Can someone assist me through this one. Cheers. |

| 1351655 | 2013-08-21 04:07:00 | If you've connected it to a PC now you could try this (free.avg.com). It says it scans all disks Or you could try Mcafee Stinger (www.mcafee.com).You can select the hdd you want to scan with this |

| 1351657 | 2013-08-21 04:29:00 | Do you know if this had a monkeypak / Ukash / ransomware infection?? This shows an FBI warning on startup . Asking you to pay up. It looks like this can also cause that white screen and blocks safe mode. If this is the cause (have you tried safe mode / networking)?? If this works you could try this (support.norton.com) |

| 1351658 | 2013-08-21 04:33:00 | No it was not infected with: monkeypak / Ukash / ransomware infection the laptop actually boots; then goes to a white screen if I do a Ctrl+Alt+Del - & choose shutdown, it blinks & exposes the desktop - then shuts down. |
