| 199342 | 2003-12-11 01:41:00 | Each time that I access the Address Book in OE v 6, I find that a garbage file called (~) is left upon the desktop. It is mostly computer language but has some, not all, of my contact names. What is it? Is it dangerous? How do I prevent it? My virus protection is up-to-date and all patches have been applied. I am using Win XP Professional. Your help appreciated | Noel (2841) | ||

| 199346 | 2003-12-11 04:12:00 | I found this article about the ~ phenomenon with Outlook Express recently whilst zooming around the net. It explains it nicely as well as a suggesting about saving that ~ backup file for safe keeping. What is the Tilde (~) file that appears on Desktop (www.pchell.com) |
