Due to the horrid radiation they emit, and the propensity for it to get into audio systems, turning them OFF would be even better.

199581 2003-12-12 00:03:00 Funny you were researching on cellphone jammers. I was researching on cellphone viruses and was wondering if someone will creat a virus that made it so that cellphones were rendered useless tell the companies fixed their virus problem.

Soon we will be required to install Antivirus/Firewalls on our Cellphone. Oh the joy!, better start learning to build cellphones now.

199583 2003-12-12 03:23:00 You will find that the Radio Regulations will cover it. I would guess that it might be legal to sell them, but because it's a transmitter, and not one of the (very limited range of) licence-free transmitting equipments you have to tell the radio regulatory authority the full name and address of any purchasers. The purchasers will then probably be told that they may use the equipment only if they (a) get a licence (which will not be granted), or (b) disable the transmitting section of the device.

Since its purpose is to "jam", using it is totally illegal. Using an unlicenced transmitter is an offence.
