199520 2003-12-11 10:21:00 actually ill do it now... might be some while tho Jimmy D (2061)
199521 2003-12-11 10:48:00 i installed the old drivers that came with the card but my computer insisted that i stay on the 640 desktop resolution and refused to change when i told it otherwise, so i installed one version newer, it works but now when i go into cs or quake it comes up with a blue screen saying error in VXD NVCORE(01) +yadada application will be terminated Jimmy D (2061)
199522 2003-12-11 10:58:00 yes i have the mobo drivers installed Jimmy D (2061)
199523 2003-12-11 10:58:00 what os are you running?

If its win98 then doing a full uninstall of the drivers is needed.

To do this you go into the adaptor properties and update driver, but u change it to a standard vga card, then reboot and remove all traces of the nvidia drivers by going into add/remove programs and uninstalling them.If your picky u can also get rid of the reg settings they leave behind.
There are a couple utilites avalable that complety remove unwanted nvidia files.

Reboot again and install the drivers you want.

In xp you just go into the add/remove programs and remove em,winxp then assigns its default nvidia drivers.

199524 2003-12-11 11:11:00 wait, i installed the oldest drivers i had, turns out the monitor drivers were apparently wrong, changed them and now i can change the desktop res from 640, games working too, fps is lightly better, by about 10 Jimmy D (2061)
199525 2003-12-11 11:31:00 Under the Nvidia display settings have you turned of both Anti Aliasing and Vertical Sync? You should notice a FPS increase with these turned off. b1naryb0y (3)
199526 2003-12-11 11:37:00 I may be mistaken but im pretty sure the tnt series of cards dont suport aa at all,so that option shouldnt be available.

And v-sync only comes into play when you hit the refresh rate set by the monitor,im guessing even if its a low 60hrz then he still aint anywhere near it.

I would say to get coolbits, its a reg entry that enables the overclocking settings, then crank that baby up.Should be able to get at least another 10fps out of it.

199528 2003-12-11 20:38:00 if its running slower than a vanta 8 meg then theres obviously something wrong with his setup, overclocking is not really the answer. tweak'e (174)
