199548 2003-12-11 11:22:00 Hi,

I just re-installed Win XP, but I don't hear any sound coming from my speakers. I need to re-install my sound card? How do I do that if that's the case?

Thanks,
Scattershot06 (4844)
199549 2003-12-11 16:50:00 have you checked to see if the mute button is engaged.

Go to control panel then Sounds&Audio Devices and have a look KK

Just re-installed or reformatted? Do you have a separate soundcard or is it built-in to the motherboard?

199551 2003-12-11 23:33:00 Either way it sounds like you need to reinstall the drivers for the soundcard. Did you get a CD which came with your computer? If the sound is onboard (ie. on the motherboard) then you will need to install the motherboard drivers (usually on a CD). If it's a separate card, then you'll still need to install the drivers, either from it's CD, or download from the manufacturer's website. somebody (208)
