| 199238 | 2003-12-10 21:22:00 | Hi, i have just read the read me file in Half Life (for fun) and i found out that a way to decrease my latency (ping) would be to turn off software compression on my internet connection (dial up) What difference will this make to my games and/or web surfing etc I run win98se on xtra |

I spent quite a few hours doing exactly as the aticle suggested, reg tweaks and adjusting settings and other such tasks, including turning off compression etc etc etc. Once finished i fired up a game, and discoverd that no matter what you do.....Dail-up is not good enough for online first person shooters. The guy on broadband will always shoot you before he even apears on your monitor |
