| 200052 | 2003-12-13 02:57:00 | Hi, I want to be able to remotely query my home PC to check on it's internet usage. I have a way to either remotely request a file via email, or have it uploaded to a web site - I just can't find a file or way to create a file that I want. Basically, a simple file showing me traffic sent/received - such as when you double-click on your dial up networking connection would be adequate, though more detailed information would be even better. I did come across PRTG (www.paessler.com) which created nice html reports which is ideal, however since I have a 2 PC home network connected with a cross over cable, when I switch the second PC off, PRTG doesn't continue monitoring (it keeps an eye on 192.168.0.1 - but with no lan connection in place, it seems that the remaining machines drops it's own IP address...). Any ideas ? |
