199615 2003-12-11 22:08:00 Heres one to ponder...

I have an ASROCK K7S8X series motherboard, and i seem to be having all kinds of problems with it.
The floppy drive will read files incorrectly, for instance a simple text file becomes a .T@T file and a zip file on it becomes a .ZAP, it seems to have problems reading them.

If I attach a USB device to the on board USB ports, it causes the system to restart, and if i leave a device attached it keeps re-starting.

I have a NVIDIA MX440 graphics card which i cant properly install error code 10. I am trying to use it to capture video and that is also problematic any advice? I am about to toss it into the harbour, because apart from playing games on it, it is a large paper weight.

199616 2003-12-11 22:30:00 I would be more inclined to look at OS and software/driver issues than hardware (stand to be corrected).

Can you supply some more info:

Whats OS, what software, patches, drivers.

System spec's, ram, HDD (+ how full), etc,

Virus and spyware checks, latest updates to same.

up to date with all the patches etc, or most of them. Downloaded all the newest drivers for the graphics card etc.
I do not have it connected to the internet so no viruses, all clean. The C is 120GB with about 110GB free, and i have a second disk which is an 80GB which is quite full, should however not be a problem.

199619 2003-12-12 08:08:00 Try rolling back the video card drivers to an earlier version. you may have to try several. Start with the drivers from just prior to when the card was superceded by anothe rmodel.
