| 200311 | 2003-12-14 06:34:00 | No - not a silly question. I think it depends on the installer program, but will leave it to someone with more knowledge, to advise on their removal. Google can help, as I recently discovered trying to revert back to IE5 from IE6. Bye |

| 200313 | 2003-12-14 07:44:00 | Some applications/upgrades are fully integrated into the Windows core, and simply can't be uninstalled. Therefore they don't show up. | godfather (25) | ||
| 200314 | 2003-12-14 09:01:00 | After service pack 1 is installed into xp you have the option of "disabling them thru add remove programs>set program access and defaults. But it doesn't work very well,they still have a habit of poping up from time to time. If you want to get rough on your os it is possible to disable them completly...... Ms were helpfull enough to force there software down our throats by hard coding them into the os itself.Guess they don't believe in consumer choice.I for one would like to wipe Internet explorer and outlook express off the face of the earth,Combined they are the breeding ground for a large propotion of peoples puter greif. Quite fond of windows media player though,Great pity what they have made it do under the surface with the last couple of builds. |

| 200316 | 2003-12-14 12:04:00 | My Add/Remove programme list shows: "Windows Media Player system update (9 series) That made me assume I could remove it if I wished. Now you have me wondering...? I did however deny it access to the Internet when first queried by free ZoneAlarm (to give me some control). Would that perhaps suit your purpose? Win98Se running IE6 |
