| 200295 | 2003-12-14 04:51:00 | Check hdd connections first, discarding or replacing often used caddies. Replace IDE cables if problem persists Replace motherboard is problem still exists. This presumes that the hdds are not detected in BIOS. This also presumes that the problem is with hdds and not a single hdd with a primary partition and multiple logical drives. If hdds are detected in BIOS and the problem is in Windows, reinstall. Optionally similar problems appear on hdds used with previously removed boot managers. Solution - wipe the first cylinder on the hdds and repartition, reformat and reinstall. | 200296 | 2003-12-14 17:50:00 | simple thing to do is to goto the hard drive makers website , (seagate.com, maxtor.com etc etc) and look thru their support pages till you find the downloadable hard drive diagnostic program they will have there then run that ..............that will definitevly tell you if it's a physical hard drive problem or not | drcspy (146) | ||
