Actually.. its run from a single server...

And the spec's seem more than sufficient to me when I last knew what they were... ;-)

200359 2003-12-14 19:43:00 me too. Sometimes PF1 doesn't load at all (or I get sick of waiting so I close the browser window - Mozilla). It's unusual, since PF1 is hosted in NZ... isn't it? somebody (208)

200362 2003-12-14 22:04:00 Chilling, if it makes you feel any better, it has been slow loading for me as well.

I was blaming all the school kids for accessing PressF1. :)

I'll let James know though, maybe it just needs a reboot (or a kick) ;)

200365 2003-12-15 02:34:00 Try this;

Type press f1 into Google, search NZ page, then come in from that way with the result third down. Always works well for me.

Spec's are perfectly sufficient, it's the software and implementation that is the unfortunate bottleneck for this forum.

Whilst Mary says "pretty good for a free service" there are way better free options out there that are a lot better than the current forum scripts.

Hell I go to free forums hosted at Rackshack etc and paid for privately with 15,000 plus members that respond rapidly with literally hundreds of thousands of threads.

Ironically it seems that an IT forum has some rather conservative IT staff operating it.
