200589 2003-12-15 03:55:00 I went through that entire site myself, and nothing worked...

However, I noticed an entry in iuident.txt under the [IUPingSever] category, and I'm wondering if part of the process needs to ping the server specified. I've been unable to ping anything, and I can only narrow it down to my ISPs configuration.

I tried going to v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com instead of http: and it works!

Weird, but I think I might change the iuident.txt file so that the https server is chosen before the http one.

That has been mentioned on this forum a few times now (to use https instead of http). Here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) is one page that mentions it.
