200874 2003-12-15 21:17:00 Has anybody used Mandrake Move before? It's like a Knoppix version of Mandrake linux, bootable from a CD? If so, what would you say about it?

I'm downloading it at the moment (beta version - all 630mb of it on a Dialup modem).

for your reference.

200875 2003-12-15 21:25:00 Appaprently they're trying to re-invent the wheel.

It's supposed to be a lot like Knoppix, only with a very obvious base of Mandrake Linux.

Its for those who arent Debian/Knoppix fans, and like the Mandrake way of doing things.

If you're interested in one based on Redhat9 or Fedora, check out Adios Linux ;-)

200876 2003-12-15 21:31:00 Thanks for the link:)

I wasn't aware that Mandrake were doing a live distro. Do you know if it is available for download?

Just another question, being an iso file, how do I burn it to a CD? Will Nero (5) be able to do it?
somebody (208)
200878 2003-12-15 22:06:00 The download is in beta version, and does not have support for removable smart-key USB storage for keeping settings. somebody (208)
200879 2003-12-15 22:11:00 cheers.

Yes Nero can burn .iso images.

When you first start nero, the "new compilation" dialog box should popup, click cancel. Now go to the "Recorder" menu and select "Burn Image". Browse for the .iso you want to burn and click open.
The burn dialog box should popup, from here you shouldn't need to change any settings. Make sure you have a blank cdr inserted and click Burn!!

200880 2003-12-15 22:28:00 Thanks b1naryb0y. The download server has slowed down quite a bit now for some reason... but 8% downloaded so far isn't too bad. somebody (208)
