| 201096 | 2003-12-16 20:44:00 | I'd appreciate some advice from wiser heads... Run 600Mhz with 383MB RAM; has Intel 82810 graphics with direct AGP (4MB shared), no AGP slots, but a couple of spare PCI. All of this is more than adequate to run the apps I need, but then along comes my 15 y/o sold with Medal of Honour...needs min 64 bit video card, or something (this is greek to me). I don't want to upgrade right now, but I'd be quite happy to put a new accelerator card in. OTOH, don't want to over-invest. Any of you gamers recommend a middle-of-the-road PCI card that might extend the life of my set-up for another year?? Cheers |

| 201098 | 2003-12-16 20:56:00 | Greetings, and welcome to PressF1! We hope you'll stick around for a while... :-) Firstly, PCI Gaming will never be as good as AGP. Does your PC even meet the minimum processor requirements for MOH? You'll want to get the latest DirectX (9.0b) regardless, it helps performance so much! You can get this from Windows Update. If MOH needs a 64MB Graphics card, then there's precious little hope for a PCI card to perform with it. See here: www.pricespy.co.nz For PCI Graphics cards. A friend of mine has the SiS card thats at the top of the list, and while its a good 32MB Card, its a long way off the performance of AGP, but may STILL suffice :-) Even if you cant run the absolute latest games, it will still widely broaden your horizons for gaming choices! Hope this helps Chill. |
