201102 2003-12-16 20:42:00 Sorry Tweak'e, I wasnt sure if you were gonna post this or not, but its such a great release I thought I'd go ahead and do it now...

Here's a screenshot of mine with the new "default" skin

You still get the option of Classic for the lower-spec'd machines!

Grab it now from:
www.winamp.com

201105 2003-12-16 21:04:00 Is it better than Winamp 3? Cause that version really $uck$.

What happened to Winamp 4?? :)

201106 2003-12-16 21:05:00 So you have 100 versions of Angels bought me here?

201107 2003-12-16 21:06:00 What about Spyware in the free version?? CYaBro (73)
201108 2003-12-16 21:14:00 Darn it. I checked a few days ago for a new version, and it was still on 3...

I suppose it looks okay, but is it really necessary to upgrade?

Yeah, love the song.. dont you ;-)

AFAIK there seems to be no spyware in the free version unless you enable Anonymous usage statistics which simply tells them how often you use WinAmp every now and then IIRC, nothing more? Could be wrong...

Their slogan is something like:
Software so good we skipped a version

It really is a great mix of WinAmp 2.x and 3 :-)
Well done to the Nullsoft team!

Not _necessary_ really, but I can safely say I wish that XMMS was this stylish....

*Chill goes to try and run WinAmp 5 under WINE

201111 2003-12-16 21:18:00 it appears to use the same amount of resourcess as winamp2.9 which is good news for win9x users. downside is that it dosn't support win95 or 98orginal. you need win98se or better.

also winamp2.x skins and plugins work with it, don't worry winamp3 skins also work.

i havn't found any spyware.

just check which ver you have, it should be dated the dec 14th not dec 12th.
