| 201219 | 2003-12-17 12:04:00 | Thanks for your comments Archibald. What I enjoy is THE programming. What I've failed (twice) is one beginner information systems paper, IS101, which is mainly on the UML. Without that I can't carry on with the programming in this degree it would seem. The other paper is a management paper which is not a core requirement. I'll have to talk to them I think. |

Don't forget you are getting an overall training, not just in the subjects that are your favourite. The other qualifications you mention are too specific if you want a broad based training. Who knows, within the foreseeable future they may be like the Dodo and what are you going to do then ? Met a guy recently who qualified on main frames. Within his working lifetime he became useless. Stick with the degree, it gives you the ability to go in a new direction at any time. Good luck and remember, Nil illegitimi carborundum (my Latin spelling is NOT good). Crunn |

Its becoming a standard job, like an electrician or builder. Niche. IMHO it's better to think in terms of education than qualifications per se. Would get you a lot lot further in the long run. |
