201584 2003-12-19 00:55:00 Hi,
Recently on two different web pages I have been unable to access all the content. I get the red x in a white box in the top left corner of otherwise empty frames which I think means there's a file there in a format I can't access. I'm running Windows XP professional, IE 6, reasonably up to date, & using PC-cillin 2003 AV siftware. There must be an obvious fix for this. Can someone please tell me what it is I'm not doing?
Thanks very much.

201585 2003-12-19 01:04:00 The Red X White Box means a picture is having difficulty loading.

The problem could be the picture does not exist in the path specified or it isn't loading correctly.

Tell us the link, email the webmaster, etc. As it's possibly their problem.

Some Firewalls block images, if cookies aren't enabled or being blocked due to third party sites then they may not show either, if you disable blocking of 3rd party and try again it may work.

Cheers,

KK

201587 2003-12-20 19:37:00 Usually a problem with the web page itself but check this anyway.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options and click on the Advanced Tab.
Scroll down till you find the HTTP 1.1 settings.
Uncheck the "Use HTTP 1.1 Through Proxy Connections" box.
Shut down and restart Internet Explorer.

201588 2003-12-24 08:37:00 Thanks very much for the suggestions. I've tried them all, & no change in the page I was looking at, so i think it must be the page & not me.
Cheers,
M.
