| 201528 | 2003-12-18 18:37:00 | like a rip-off compared to ihug satellite. lets see i want to download heaps of stuff (maybe a movie and a few games a month) at high speed. Xtra DSL :[$60 256kb/s 1GB cap] per month$200 to install or Xtra DSL: [ $60 full speed 500Mb cap] per month $200 or Ihug ultra: [$60 1GB/s 2gb cap] per month $450 to install and maybe a second line ... now lets see the only reason i would choose dsl is because you can seperate the voice and data to use the phone at the same time. Over a substantial period of time i would not care about installation costs. I cant get cable in my area so i am left with these choices. I think i may wait until telecom have a decent price for a bigger MB allowance. |

| 201529 | 2003-12-18 18:50:00 | It is a rip off. The next best thing is Jetstream Starter, 128kbps, 10GB cap (at least with Paradise) $30/month plus ISP charges. 500MB, or 1GB caps are just plain lunacy. |

Kazaa version bla bla web SEARCH traffic chat SEARCH FOR SOFTWARE turned up 1 mil results Dream weaver 4 $700 Photoshop 7 worth $1400 pro film editing software $4000(i forget what they use my sister did film at uni) ^ CAD $3000 bla bla you find your mouse(up arrow) sliding over to that $4000 software and then you "accidentally" click it and laugh at thoose people who buy all that $hit the truth is software is way too expensive same with CDs when u only like 1 or 2 songs on an album The companies will never win warez cracked XP just hours after its release. I am not recommending you download free stuff of corse(so a magazine would say while telling you all about p2p um no they dont get paid advert money buy software companies) |

Take the internet with me a few doors down to work and have it there (I could plug it into the LAN, but how boring would that be!). Admittedly, everybody knows NZ are behind the rest of the world in broadband areas (According to Telecoms new ads with the Jetsons, JetStream Starter is not classed as broadband!), but Walker Wireless are stirring up the competition with their Woosh Wirelss service, and I can only say it looks like a brighter future (What about those lucky people in Manakau who got 10x speed DSL for a couple of months for the same price!)! |

I have been anoied with xtra dial up becaus i always get speeds of lower than 1 kb the lowest was 43b/s, the speeds measured on opera 7. I will check the wireless options. damn right NZ are behind. everywhere else or just about you can get full speed flat rate for $30. thanx for the help chilling silently |
