201495 2003-12-18 14:53:00 According to the article linked below, MS are making roughly 20% profits on their revenue in NZ, compared to approx 11% in Australia.

201496 2003-12-18 15:09:00 How did you work your sums out on that, Greg?
My maths are rotten, but I couldn't see enough Aussie detail there to make a comparison.

201497 2003-12-18 15:12:00 I just used El Calkulator :) It's just arithmatic really.

What you doing up at this time of the morning Laura!?
Greg S (201)
201498 2003-12-18 15:18:00 And as a P.S....This looks like another of those
ghastly across-the-page-so-needs-scrolling-threads already.
I suggest anyone who wants to reply starts a new one.
(Advice on how to fix it can't compare with not damn
well having it in the first place)

201499 2003-12-18 15:25:00 It might be your browser settings - the link for me nestles nicely into two lines.

Back to your q... it was really just an approximation:

NZ Profits = 9
Revenue = 54
9 is a 5th of 54, therefore = 20%

Aus Profits = 30
Revenue = 261
30 is approx an 8th of 261, therefore = 11%

201500 2003-12-18 15:26:00 Well, now that you've replied while I was writing,
all I can say is that I admire your arithmatic
(even if I don't know how you did it - but that was always my worst subjest at school)
And as for my night hours - I am a night owl on occasion.
So what are you doing up at this hour yourself - when all
good computer fellers should be dreaming of what Santa will bring by now?

Agh, I work from home and have somehow developed a reverse bodyclock :( I'll head to bed soon after having a salad for breakfast/dinner
Greg S (201)
201502 2003-12-18 15:35:00 And yes, sadly it's still a BIG page...
needs scrolling for the details

201503 2003-12-18 15:40:00 As tis post appears to be a dualogue so far....
