| 201454 | 2003-12-18 11:05:00 | I have Win XP Home, Under my Add remove Programs, I have a number of listings there that have no option to remove or delete them, is there any way i can remove these from the list? I have noticed that using Add/Remove Pro, that after removing it from that list, it puts it on the computers add/remove programs with no option to remove it. Any help? Thanks |

When you install programs, its usually done under the Windows Installer. It then (naturally) ends up on the Windows Add/Remove program list. If you uninstall it using a third party application (as you describe) then the program listing will often remain, and be orphaned, as you have removed the program by another means outside the control of the Windows uninstalling routine. There are utilities that allow you to remove these listings, JV16 Power Tools was one but its hard to find in a free version now. |
