| 201862 | 2003-12-20 03:48:00 | Hi, I have a network (3 computers) all running windows 98 and a hub with ADSL linking them all up. One of the computers I want to upgrade to Winxp. Will upgrading one of the Windows 98 computers to Windows XP change any network settings? Will upgrading affect the network so the computer upgrading will not be able to use ADSL? Cheers |

| 201863 | 2003-12-20 04:08:00 | Hi According to your problem regarding upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows XP I wouldn't think they are any big problem when u r upgrade one of your computer to the Windows XP, because Windows XP is also specifically design to use ADSL.... and all you have to do is remember the correct IP number, then you should be able to work fine when u goto ADSL Tell you wot, i have one computer with Windows 98 and the other one is Windows XP, it works fine on both computer and the communicate well each other.... hope that helps and boost your confidence Jacky |

Setup the Xp PC from the system disc first and follow the instructions carefully....Xp makes it a breeze..... and don't be surprised at the end when you are instructed to insert your XP system disc into the W98 PC, some files need to be written to the W98 system. |
