201874 2003-12-20 01:27:00 i was wondering how would i find out how hot my computer is running at and what is a safe running temperture for a P4 1.8 Ghz?

Don't know what an overtemp is but my processor currently running at 41C which I'm told is ok

Even Intel will not tell you an exact figure..

As low as you can afford too keep it is the best conclusion I have come too.

I use speedfan to monitor my system.

201877 2003-12-20 02:53:00 The cd that came with your motherboard might have a utility on it that you can install. if not try the motherboard manufacturer's website.

My P4 runs at 32-40C, and according to software it can go right up to 70 without problems.

thats right i was looking at intels website and it said 70 degrees is the max

My 1.8 P4 is running at 37.2... not under any load... i dont think it gets to much hotter than 40 tho...

SiSoft Sandra is good for fining out info bout ones PC...
