| 201816 | 2003-12-19 23:24:00 | I've got a file (spreadsheet) that I got sent to me and I put it on the desktop for a start. I can open it in Quickview (running win98se) but I can't relocate it to temp files or downloaded files. The 'Send To' function doesn't have the option in it I want. I tried opening Win Explorer and then dragging it to Temp files but it won't move. Has that 'illegal operation' symbol of the circle with a bar across it. I know this is pretty basic, but it eludes me. I want to send it to Temp files or Downloaded Prog Files, I don't mind but I don't want it stored on the Desktop. Any help much appreciatted. :) |

| 201817 | 2003-12-19 23:50:00 | just open it normally then 'save as' to where you want then delete the original if you cant open it 'normally' and cant drag'n'drop it you can make a new 'send to' listing on your right clik menu very easily .......say you want to make a 'send to ' listing for 'temp' folder.........do this....... go into c:/windows.........now 'half size' that page..... now RIGHT click one time on whichever folder you want to make the new 'send to item' and holdign down the clik drag it onto the desktop.......then release the clik you will then get a little menu..........use the 'create shortcut here' item ......... now.....in the open c:/windows ........folder scroll down till you see the folder called 'send to'.......and double clik it to open............... now drag that new shortcut into that folder then close whatever is open ............ now if you right clik you will see a new menu item on the 'send to list'......easy........ |
