2003-12-22 09:41:00 | Laura, I am so glad I wasn't the only one who really missed her fix. LOL This is how I learn to fix things on my puter, by reading about everyone elses headaches, then when it comes up on my puter, then I know, well sometimes, how to fix it. | supergran (108) | |

2003-12-22 10:08:00 | Well folks, the IDG office is closed till Jan 7, so I'm not there, I'm on holiday. The IT folks are there doing work on infrastructure stuff while eveyone is away so they aren't exactly keeping an eye on site status. I didn't see that F1 was down till after 4pm an alerted them then. Jim's succinct reply was that it "ran outta space". Problem sorted now. Apologies for the outage.

2003-12-22 10:10:00 | Probably the usual "someone tripped over the network cable" story :p And what with a Xmas party, no one at IDG would've noticed ;) :D

2003-12-22 10:12:00 | Nope, there's the real reason. *Hopes everyone knew my post was a joke and that, AFAIK, there was no Xmas party*

2003-12-22 10:17:00 | Since my last post, I've done some research. As a newb, it seemed only fair.... It shows me that PF1 has not only gone down before on occasions, accompanied by moans & groans (Yes, stu140103 I took your advice) but other people have mentioned " fixes" also. Supergran & I are not alone. It's even been suggested that some may have turned to drink when it happened last Easter.... As to that, my lips are sealed. Only a search of the archives will tell the truth.... My immediate question isn't WHAT happened (The rest of you will nag for that answer) but more curiosity about how some people did manage to post in what seems to be a window of opportunity between 12.27pm (Greg S) and 1.29p.m. (Peter H). All I noticed today was the screen had changed from a basic black/white error message notice to a bigger one with a pretty blue background. Thought something must be happening then, but what...? Yes, an explanation would be nice.
