201955 2003-12-20 20:11:00 Ok team , so Im thick.
I installed DVD-RW [NEC] and cd clone prog.
now I have an extra cd rom called Elby in my system!! I only got one unit! is this from the clone prog like a ghostie type thingy?
when I went to burn a cd, Nero, my original prog, instead of burning a cd, made an image [burnt image] to My Documents and I cant get it to write to my blank CDR. why people why??

201956 2003-12-20 22:11:00 You need to tell Nero which device you want to burn to. It sounds like Elby (who I think make Clone CD?) has installed a virtual CD drive on your machine, which will allow you to make CD images. Nero will see that drive as a CD burner. Somewhere in Nero's options will be a place to tell Nero what Burner to use - just change it from the Elby drive to the DVD-RW.

201957 2003-12-20 22:13:00 In Nero there should be a "Recorders" menu - open that menu and at the top of the list should be "Choose Recorder". Click on that and change from the image recorder (will probably be listed as a 'virtual device' or similar) to your DVD burner.

201958 2003-12-20 22:26:00 Hi Hugh,

When Clone CD is installed it creates a virtual CD drive, this allows you to run CD images from your hard disk at around 200x. In your taskbar there should be an icon of a sheep, right click it and select the option to configure/disable the virtual drive.

Nero should still work with the virtual drive enabled, just make sure to select your DVD-RW drive first.

201959 2003-12-22 17:46:00 The virtual drive is one of the coolest things in Clone CD. You right click it and can choose which image you mount on the virtual disk. Saves me heaps of time with the kids and their games, they don't lose, scratch, or dirty the disks.

Be happy, it's awesome. Delete the image if you don't like it. The other thing is you can write from the img file over and over so only need to read once. Assuming you are making lots of copies of your digital photos for members of your family, for example.
