Whilst we are critiquing Greg's case, some UV reactive rounded IDE cables would look sweet in that case :D.
I like the case window, mine is so boring.

Macs vs PC ...

I have only had a wee play with a Mac (shop demo model), and spent most that time trying to figure out what was with the mouse :D. I wouldn't mind having a proper look at a Mac as I like trying out different things. Anyone want to lend me one as I am not prepared to do a lap around Woolworths naked unlike some forum members :p

202338 2003-12-24 06:44:00 That's an interesting comment about how you've been using PCs for years.

When I tried my first PC, I had been using Macs for several years and I hated the PC. However, had I been using a PC for years, then it's quite possible that it might have been challenging for me to switch to a Mac.

I guess the concept of user friendlyness is largely a matter of what you're adjusted to and what you feel comfortable with based on your experience.

202339 2003-12-24 10:20:00 You've all been brainwashed by Microsoft.

Don't you ever listen to coldfusion. XP IS GONNA COME AND TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE. Don't touch it with a 10 foot ps2 usb adaptor barge pole!

Gregs PC is boring. Can't say much for mine though. Look at the G4! Nice chrome cd drive covers covering it.... doesn't even look like there is a CD drive. The G5 has just a rectangular thing for the CD drive.

BTW we aretalking about the latest and greatest here. No MacOS 8 or 9.

I don't see gregs CDdrive stealthed. And we didn't see his GUI did we? Windows XP? Eye-candy-my-arse!

People have got to be less Microsoft minded because Microsoft, indeed, will take over our lives... telling us what we can and can't do with their DRM and paladium ****! They're even putting MS OS's IN CARS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD... The brakes software is updated wirelessly. I wouldn't trust my cars brakes to Microsoft.

Next they'll be limiting where we can drive.

I'm sick of multi-billion corporations telling me what I can and can't do!

As far as I know Apple=Freedom

202343 2003-12-24 12:09:00 Wow hamstar - you're into rip-into-greg mode huh. I guess that aesthetics must be a matter of taste.

I'm a bit unsure why you're so outspoken on a PC forum - remember this is "PCWorld" , not "MacWorld", so maybe your tastes aren't necessarily universal.

Remember, that some people regard G4's as garish and peculiar - and if it doesn't look like it has a CD drive, why not!?

I suspect you were just in a seriously bad mood when you last posted

202344 2003-12-24 12:47:00 I must say after having a Mac for 3 days I can say that no matter how many lights, windows, and chrome bits you attach to a PC it's still a PC. The Mac is a total package with seamless integration between hardware and OS. Now I have OS X I can compile all my goodies without the need for a feral OS like Linux round the house. BIFF (1)
202345 2003-12-24 18:34:00 Simple answer.

When I am using my PC for normal things such as work, perhaps chatting, browsing etc. I am on Windows. The reason for that is because I've grown up on Windows and now know it inside out.

Now that I have pretty much got Windows sorted, I'm trying to move on to Linux, but am struggling to get the network going... (in another post somewhere) Linux is obviously more complex, hence my reason to still keep on going and not give up. I think that it has the potential to eventually overrun Windows.

As for Mac, go away. It's completely useless. Sure, Bill Gates stole their mouse etc. but if you look at the software available for them, the hardware upgrades, it's virtually impossible. Mac makes computer novices feel good! And trust me, I tried using one... it's not very easy.

Well, that's my two cents worth.
