| 202280 | 2003-12-28 18:41:00 | What's with incessantly bumping up the thread? There are no unanswered questions in the thread (that I'm aware of ?:|) which would justify bumping it up so in essence couldn't it be classed as post padding? Most people interested in joining a BF1942 clan would have already been through your site for opinions and if they liked it they would've joint. If you want more people to join then how about hitting the JetstreamGames Forums (forums.jetstreamgames.co.nz), the GamePlanet Forums (http:), or the Recoil Forums (http://forums.recoil.net.nz/) which are users more dedicated to gaming? Alternatively you could try recruiting around the Orcon Forums (http://forums.orcon.net.nz/) considering they provide hosting for BF1942 along with the updates for the game? CyberChuck |

| 202284 | 2004-01-06 04:31:00 | Instead of bumping this thread wouldn't it have been more "fitting" to make this post on your own forums in which users of the forums would see the message and thus reply? Or even better - send out an email to everyone asking for a response if they are active or not? And if you really want to show some initiative you'd use BCC on your email client and just do a generic mailer! Otherwise, assuming PHPBB (or whatever you use) supports it you could've done a mailing form from there!? (and that'd show a bit more than initiative!) Another idea is that if you really do want to prove that there is some intelligence out there you would implement email confirmation on your forums so users have to click a link instead of being able to sign straight in! However, for the sake of simplicity how's about just leaving the users as they are regardless of whether the accounts are being used or not? That's how most major forums work and they seem to do alright with it... |
