| 202185 | 2003-12-25 23:52:00 | hmm the mediabus slot is only l1/4 of the size of a pci slot | yingxuan (3330) | ||
| 202186 | 2003-12-25 23:53:00 | So there's no way of telling if this motherboard can use usb2 unless i buy the card and slot it in? | yingxuan (3330) | ||
| 202187 | 2003-12-26 10:53:00 | You will note that the Mediabus slot is in line with the PCI slot. If you look at the ISA slot of which I think you had three of then you will find that in total PCI + MediaBus will equal the length of an ISA slot. Measure an ISA slot from end to end and measure the PCI + MediaBus slots together and that should be equal. I do remember putting a PCI to USB2 card into an older motherboard about 18 months ago. It worked but I can't say that for certain a PCI - USB2 Card will work in your system. I think it will but you need to be running Win98SE or better. USB2 support does not come from the motherboard as such. You will need the right operating system and the right driver. The driver should come with the card. |
