| 203059 | 2003-12-25 19:53:00 | Its a very fast cpu that runs about 2x faster than my one does , the 2600 is a rating which matches it to a intel cpu in performance levels. its true speed is 2.13 ghz |

| 203060 | 2003-12-25 20:35:00 | A CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the main processing chip of a computer . This attaches to the main circuit board (motherboard) inside a computer case and handles all the calculations that your computer needs to operate . You could call it the brains or the motor that drives your computer . Think of it like a car motor . The higher the specification the faster it goes, however, like a car, there are other factors involved to give you the performance you need (RAM, hard drive etc) . There are two main CPU manufacturers, Intel and AMD . Using another car analogy (and this is a very basic comparision), the Intel chips are like a 4 cylinder engine, the AMD's are like rotary's, in that the AMD's can provide similar power output to a comparable Intel CPU with a lesser 'engine size' . The AMD's however work harder, and therefore get hotter, so need more cooling to be effective . Now, that comparison isn't anything more than VERY general - and I am not a car engine enthusiast, so don't flame me if I got it all wrong, but that's how I see it . J :D |

| 203062 | 2003-12-26 12:43:00 | thanks very much for the expenations, I was not really sure what the 2.13ghz bit meant, as i thought it ran at 2600, but i see now that it does the same as a 2600 but runs at 2.13ghz, thank you all very much! ^_^ | Mr_T (5031) | ||
