2003-12-25 10:54:00 | Start with _just_ the basics attached, RAM, CPU, Graphics card, and leave the rest...! Next, plug in the system speaker so you can hear the POST beeps. From there: Do make sure you've plugged the cable in from the Case into the right plugs. I spent about 3/4 of an hour the first time I built a PC working out why it wouldnt turn on. Ended up being that I had put the Reset and Power switch in the each others place on the Motherboard :p Hope this helps Chill.

2003-12-25 11:40:00 | make sure you have the right speed of ram I had ddr333 in a soltek m/board and it needed ddr 2700 to work | kiwibeat (304) | |
2003-12-25 17:50:00 | well I built a puter, (new) witha asus mobo.........in the manual it says 'use the nine screws to attach the mobo to the case'...........which i did also used a couple of the plastic 'standouts' they'd provided.........well............it seems the damn puter wouldn't start ......... took me just a few mins to figure our that it'd start alright but ONLY if I isolated the mobo from the case by using ONLY plastic standouts to attach it NOT metal screws as the book has told me...........Grrrrrrrr

2003-12-25 23:18:00 | did you use themetal screws or the plastic standouts to attach the mobo ? | drcspy (146) | |
2003-12-26 01:15:00 | didn't come with anything like that, i just used the metal screws i already had. | chucky9 (1136) | |
2003-12-26 02:44:00 | take the mobo out of the case and try starting it up that way so that it's not in contact with the case (this'll be a similar effect to using the insulated standouts)........if it fires up then you've found the prob | drcspy (146) | |
2003-12-26 02:52:00 | Take it to someone who knows what to look for. Better to cut the chase and just get it sorted,Otherwise your just going to get people putting foward pure guesswork.

2003-12-26 03:27:00 | As Metla said - could be anything - on button connected to the right terminals etc. If you are not sure of what you are doing, take it to someone who does, otherwise you will finish up with a nbg M/B. Bye
