202778 2003-12-24 20:01:00 Santa had to come early for my PC, as he seems to get a bit confused with requests and who knows what you will end up with if you ask for some rounded IDE cables :D

So .... Santa's little helper went and got some rounded IDE cables for the XP Box, and the Linux box got a new mousepad. Unfortunately the said mousepad is a 3D holographic image one (of cute Nemo-type fish) which plays major havoc with optical mice - they have not idea where they are and become rather uncontrollable. So said mousepad is being dispatched to the work PC with has a un-neutered mouse. :D

still looking up the chimney for my laptop that I emailed Santa about ....

Don't know why that is, because I've got a holographic mousepad here too - just tried it with my optical mouse, and it's perfectly fine :D

202780 2003-12-24 21:53:00 An Epson Perfection 1670 Photo Scanner with Transparency Unit for scanning 35 mm colour slides.

We got it a little early and now Pat has just finished scanning all our
1000+ colour transparencies covering 50 years of family goings on.

She has transferred them to cd discs and will be giving each of our now grownup children a set .

I know they will be thrilled.......these slides have sat in their boxes for all this time, rarely seen by the children and almost none ever seen by the grandchildren.

It's times like this that I remember to appreciate this marvellous hobby we have at our disposal
