203051 2003-12-26 13:02:00 Does it do anything at all?

Like does the Power pack fan start up.
Or the cpu fan
Does it go through finding the keyboard (LEDS on the KB flash)
Does the screen standby light go to "on"
or does the whole thing just sit there staring blankly like a 25 yr old Labrador.

A bit more info would be useful :)

203053 2003-12-26 19:09:00 is it a new power supply, it sounds like a power supply problem, take it back and het a new one and see if this works. ilikelinux (1418)
203054 2003-12-26 19:32:00 I assume the Mobo is an upgrade in an existing box and presumably Power supply .

I agree with Ilikelinux, sounds as if you have a powersupply issue .
Double check the connections to the mobo .

I am assuming of course that you are using the original switching on the box . Some Power packs have a screw in fuse on the back plate . Check it if its there . If it does have one and it's blown then you need to find out why before you go any further .

If it is the original pack and it looks dodgy toss it and buy a new one . More Mobos are taken out by faulty Power Packs than arguably anything else . It's a cheap insurance .

203055 2003-12-26 19:34:00 used my current power supply with my old mobo and computer started up.
Could it be that this new mobo needs a powerful psu?
My current psu is 300w psu.

203056 2003-12-26 19:55:00 300w is fine.............is your cpu locked down correctly?
