You cant, that's only an estimate.

Most (for the PC's Ive done) range between 27 and 56MB in size.

If you want something redistributable, then download the 130MB odd "Network Install" or "Redistributable Service Pack" Installer (Both are the same thing, just different names).

202840 2003-12-28 21:01:00 Surely it's possible to at least purchase a CD containing these updates. I realise that they would never be totally up to date but they would provide protection from "Blaster" at least and enable updates to be downloaded afterwards.
It can be a nuisance to download the huge service packs etc from MS after an HD format via a modem connection

202841 2003-12-28 21:04:00 I do this for people.. Not many people know about it (Its got Win2K SP4 + rollup and WinXP SP1 + Rollup), I mean, how do you go about advertising you offer that sorta service :-P Chilling_Silently (228)

No according to MS it is illegal to make a CD and distribute it.

What I do is download the updates manually and save them to my hard drive and then a CD when I have enough . After a format it is much easier (though not quicker :-() to reinstall the updates from the HDD/CD rather than re-download them all again .

One thing to remember with this method though, is that some updates get issued more than once and you do need to ensure that the most current one gets reinstalled rather than the older versions .
