| 203211 | 2003-12-26 08:44:00 | I would love to be able to find a program that can easily show the ID3V2 tag of all the files in a folder in a table/spreadsheet format. I use an old version of Abyss Audio which shows me the ID2 tags. But I need one that shows (and preferably allows you to edit easily in a table format the ID3V2 tags.) Please note thta I do not want to know the names of programs that support or show the ID3V2 tags, but ones that allow to to see them and edit them all in table/spreadsheet format. Thanks and Happy New Year and I suggest you all try Foobar for playing your MP3's - its great. Digby |

It can display ID3V2 if you install that option (from the special installer) and with masstagger you can easily tag multiple files at once. Using foo_freedb (special installer) you can also easily tag complete albums from data held at the freedb. | -=JM=- (16) | ||
| 203213 | 2003-12-26 18:38:00 | Thanks JM I am using Foobar, I will try that option. But I find that foobar is hard to understand with all the options and no help, I suppose I will just have to try them all. Its got great sound don't you think ? Digby |

| 203214 | 2003-12-26 20:35:00 | I had such a program installed myself a couple of months ago but now that it has been removed I can't remember which one it was. :-( It might have been MSGTAG145.exe or TagScan but I am not sure. Personally I gave up on it and used Foobar's Masstagger instead to strip out all the tags and redo them from the file names. Metla suggested a program in this thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) recently but I have not tried it myself. > But I find that foobar is hard to understand with all the options and no help, I suppose I will just have to try them all. It can be a little daunting but you can find some good tips and info on the Foobar forums (www.hydrogenaudio.org). There is also a basic FAQ section (www.foobar2000.org) at Foobar's website as well. |

| 203215 | 2003-12-26 21:24:00 | Thanks Susan for those two suggestions . I know what you mean about mass tagger . But I find that sometimes there is information in the tag already thjat I would not want to override automatically . I like to do it Manually so I have complete control . I will also check out Mp3TagStudio -I have an old version of it, but it is very overwhelming with lots and lots of options . Thanks for your suggestion of checking out the Foobar FAQ and web site Regards Digby |

| 203216 | 2003-12-26 23:21:00 | Abander TagControl 2 (www.softartstudio.com) Pretty much perfect control. Its pay for, however there is a fairly luxurious trial period. If your like me & decided to tidy up the collection, I found its batch editing features allowed me to retag & rename 7000+ mp3's ogg's flac's & more with minimal input in a few hours. (as long as you take the tme to learn the advanced features, altho the wizards are pretty potent) |

Sorry, I just did a search in my downloads folder for "tag" and thought that looked likely . :8} MP3 Tag Clinic (http://www . kevesoft . com/) is probably the one you want: MP3 Tag Clinic's unique spreadsheet-like design maximizes the methods available for editing tags . While placed in full fiew and editable field-by-field individually, they are also made available to a wide range of auto-editing tools and features that are as close as your mouse . I am fairly certain that is the one I liked the best out of the ones I tried before using Masstagger . It is shareware however, with a 30-day trial (from memory) . |
