| 1353524 | 2013-09-13 09:29:00 | Hi Peoples I'm trying to do a group email with an attached newsletter to around 60 people. The attachment size is 2.1MB My question is, does the email server take each recipient as an individual email plus attachment, or does it see the 60 emails + attachments as 60 X 2.1MB = 126MB ? (without the email itself) |

The email that you upload will be only 2.1MB + a few kb for the text of message and a few kb for the list of names. Most ISPs are ok sending that sort of email to clubs etc. (Try it!) | coldot (6847) | ||
| 1353527 | 2013-09-13 23:00:00 | From your client to YOUR server it will be 1 x 2.1MB email with 60 addresses. From there to each destination domain will be 1 mail each (i.e 1x2.1MB email to xtra.co.nz with 30 recipient addresses + 1x2.1MB email to gmail.com with 20 recipient addresses etc.). |

| 1353529 | 2013-09-15 09:10:00 | In my view all group emails such as this should be sent using BCC, otherwise every individual on the list has his/her email address sent to 59 other computers, each of which has the potential to become infected with a nasty which could spoof the recipient's address and begin sending spam. One of the spam-avoidance measures is to be prudent about how many computers one's address becomes stored on. | Robin S_ (86) | ||
