1353141 2013-09-10 07:18:00 I have been experiencing problems with videos imbedded in a browser page not showing or running. All I get is a blank space, the rest of the page displays normally.

I have Javascript enabled, Popups allowed, and the latest Flash Player. I have also checked Windows updates.

Anyone any ideas what the problem is?

Cheers

1353142 2013-09-10 08:05:00 Assuming the videos are flash, see if this does anything -- right click the clip as its playing, ( blank space) if the flash window opens, click setting, untick enable hardware acceleration. wainuitech (129)
1353143 2013-09-10 23:16:00 Update flash its just been updated today. See if that fixes it. Uninstall the version that's installed first. Also, if Java is installed update that too. Its now up to 7 update 40. Uninstall ALL previous versions first Speedy Gonzales (78)
1353144 2013-09-11 02:11:00 Hi Guys

Thanks for your interest.

I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player, downloaded and installed latest 11.8.800.168. Still no video action.

Downloaded and installed Java 40. Java test indicates it is working. Still no videos.

Able to run Youtube videos with no problems.

1353145 2013-09-11 02:27:00 So what videos are you talking about? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1353146 2013-09-11 03:00:00 Hi Speedy Gonzales

The NZ Herald has news articles that run a video link. These are not loading and running. I have tried to think of another site that does the same so that I can check, but can't think of anything.

1353147 2013-09-11 03:39:00 Tried this but that didn't help. There was no mms.cfg file.

"Close your browser windows In Explorer, navigate to the following folder:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ (the easiest way to accomplish this is to type %appdata% in Explorer's path bar.)
Delete the Macromedia folder Next, go into the Adobe folder and delete the "Flash Player" folder inside. Finally,
go to "c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash" and look for an mms.cfg file. If one is present, please rename it.
Once complete, try those offending sites out again."
