2013-09-06 05:31:00 | What sort of processor can I put into my Asus M4N68T-M V2 motherboard? Do they still sell AM3 socket cpu's? | QW. (15883) | |
2013-09-06 05:38:00 | Computerlounge sell them. Altho you may or may not have to update the BIOS first for some of them. Looks like it supports AM3, that's it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-09-06 06:11:00 | I can't find any on the ComputerLounge site. Its AM3 socket not AM3+. Nothing says it supports AM3+ on the list of compatible CPU's www.asus.com

2013-09-06 06:27:00 | I think some mobos are compatible with AM3+ CPU's. But you would have to update the BIOS first. You could have a look on pricespy. See what shops may still sell them | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-09-06 06:37:00 | What do you have now and what are you trying to make run better? If you can find one a Phenom II x4 or x6 is still a really good CPU, still sold new in USA on E-bay and Amazon if you want to go that way. Otherwise locally I can find; www.pp.co.nz www.trademe.co.nz

2013-09-06 21:37:00 | First thing I would do is update the BIOS. Just in case you decide to get another CPU. So it'll actually work / turn it, when / if you change it. There's one on the mightyape site. Dont know how good the site is tho, never used it Here (www.mightyape.co.nz). The BIOS would have to be 0402 or higher to support this CPU

2013-09-06 23:12:00 | Try and find a Phenom II X4 955 (www.trademe.co.nz) or above (but wouldn't bother with X6s). Would be a huge upgrade from the Sempron and can be had fairly cheap now. As above, make sure you've updated the BIOS to ensure support. | inphinity (7274) | |
2013-09-06 23:48:00 | Mighty ape are pretty good speedy, but I already linked that CPU $20 cheaper from paradigm who are also very good. The trademe link was a phenom II x4 965 about as good as it's worth going IMO
