1352567 2013-09-03 02:12:00 Anyone know how to back up OneNote files to an external HDD? Office 2013 W7.
Ok no prob to back up to the cloud but in case the sky falls in want to put a copy on an external HDD.
Have looked through the Office files but typical MS they hide stuff!
Thanks

1352569 2013-09-03 02:46:00 Thanks but MS don't make it that easy!
There is "Save As" but it appears to be just the current open file.
I am using OneNote for all my documents that would normally put into an old fashioned filing cabinet and it is working fine - great for searching for anything.

1352570 2013-09-03 03:54:00 I'm using OneNote 2013 as well and I'm not seeing a Save As option...

Here's what I'm seeing when I click File -> Export, and it looks to be exactly what you're after.

5163 Thats one way.

i do it completely different.

Depending on your OS, go to where the One Notes are saved, generally My Documents - there you will find a folder called " One Note Notebooks ( gee How original ) lol.

In there are all your onenote bits and bobs. You can simply copy/paste the whole folder to back up everything,or open it and select what you want. ( then copy paste)

I use onenote with a "To Do list", with weekly notes,Appointments etc, each week I remove the previous week and start a new one for that week, that way at any time I can look back at what ever week and open it if I need. They can be saved or moved ( backed up) to anywhere.

Todays listing is empty, but the workshop Is'nt :D

Heres 2013's backed up/ moved so far :)

1352572 2013-09-04 04:19:00 Thanks you guys and yes did just copy the whole folder from My Docs.
Interesting that my screens did not show the Export option - that must be on the very last version?

Possibly, I'm using Office 365 as opposed to 2013 so there might be a difference...

1352574 2013-09-04 04:37:00 I copied the OneNote folder onto a laptop with Office 2007 and it didn't like it at all! Opened fine on the iPad OneNote App. stuffed (1469)
