1330433 2013-02-28 01:32:00 Anyone I know here that has a line into Chorus?
Someone with a bit of pull, I need to speed up a provisioning order.

1330434 2013-02-28 02:33:00 Who's your internet service provider and why do you need to speed it up?

What is the reason?

Because there are also other customers who also wants "to speed up" the provisioning order

1330435 2013-02-28 02:49:00 Honest answer
I can't get my DSL moved till the phone line is done, its scheduled for March the 5 and I have a online event on the 10th that is threatened unless I can speed things up.

1330436 2013-02-28 03:06:00 They provisioning a new phone line or just churning you between providers?

You're in Chch, so they're in high demand down there... Up here, you can get churned between providers in < 36 hours :D

1330437 2013-02-28 03:17:00 I am switching from Orcon as you know.
Orcon has VoIP and naked DSL so its a new line and a new DSL effectively.

1330438 2013-02-28 03:23:00 Aah OK if they're rolling a new line then yeah that always takes longer. Unfortunately I don't know anybody , but I guess it can't hurt to ask here in case somebody else does :) Chilling_Silence (9)
1330439 2013-02-28 07:33:00 I know feel man! 8 days for Snap to connect us up to the local cabinet. Ugh! With a good 300 people in our complex, all uni students. Most setting up a new connection, I would have thought chorus would have been out relatively fast since there are so many jobs on this box. The Error Guy (14052)
1330440 2013-02-28 10:45:00 Have you tried calling your ISP for an earlier connection date?

What did they say,

Is your order for a line intact or full installation?

Your switching from orcon to..?

Who were you with previously. The only scenario I can think why your BB taking so long to disconnect is

1. It requires a full installation and all the techs are booked.
2. Probably your number is moving from 1 network to another network which usually takes a minimum of 6 days.

1330441 2013-02-28 10:53:00 New ISP said it is out of their hands, its up to Chorus.
Switching from Orcon to Actrix.
On Orcon I was on the Genius so its a VoIP phone and naked DSL (I think)
Either way its a new phone line and a new DSL line

The number porting from Orcon to Actrix is the first step, they say they can't start the DSL till that is done.

1330442 2013-02-28 18:11:00 There is really no way to speed things up. And chorus don't do the work anyway, it'll be the local patch contractor. If you look at a chorus vehicle you'll usually see another company logo and that's who actually does the work.

The best you can generally do is request any changes well ahead of time.
