1352695 2013-09-06 07:32:00 Nah Technicolor *bought out* Thomson, it's the same routers, same firmware that dies super easy. I tried one of their VDSL2 modems on my home link a week or two back. It's "better" but all you have to do is fire up a TeamSpeak3 client while playing Team Fortress2 and it'll fall to pieces :p
Yuup, hopefully my replacement will arrive tomorrow, oh and I don't use teamspeak :)

1352696 2013-09-06 10:02:00 Yeah the DrayTek DV2760, and I've actually had surprisingly good success with the Innbox V50-U as well.

Sure, but its over $400 for the 2760n retail, as is the V50-U. There's nothing in the $200 - $300 range that's usable, good, and full-featured, like there is with ADSL, at this stage. Hopefully that changes soon.

1352697 2013-09-06 13:16:00 Yeah that's true, but VDSL2 is and likely always will be a bit more of a "premium" product vs ADSL2+.
Still, spend another hundred bucks and get yourself something reliable, it's well worth it!

Still can't find anything that fits the reliable and full featured category, though - the 2760n, even, at $400, lacks dual-band wifi, and it's 2.4GHz coverage is miserable (barely half the coverage and throughput that Asus' N55U or AC66U give me). So I still have to pay extra for a proper wifi access point. I guess I'm just bitterly disappointed that the DV130 is so rubbish, I had high hopes for it at ~$180 as a bridge to be the answer. That said, the Fritzbox 7390 is awesome, we had a couple through the other day, I am very tempted. Similar price to the 2760n, but with more features than the 2760Vn, and better wifi to boot. And it syncs consistently higher on both VDSL lines we tried them on, too. You know, I think I just sold myself on it... ;)

1352699 2013-09-07 08:13:00 Nah used a few of the Fritzbox models, wasn't super impressed.

Definitely just grab the DV130 then and use it in tandem with a Gargoyle TP-Link router :D

Have you successfully bridged the DV130 on a 17a VDSL connection yet? I haven't been able to with the Asus RT-AC66U, Netgear R6300, or Cisco ASA 5512X I've tried it with. Draytek support tell me they can reproduce the issue and "hope a future firmware update will resolve the problem". I'm all ears on a solution in the meantime :)
