| 1353313 | 2013-09-16 00:13:00 | Thanks for all the alerts etc in this thread. My understanding is that each Service Pack contains the contents of any previous ones, so if that is correct then XP SP3 should include SPs 1 and 2 and therefore only SP3 plus anything since is all that is necessary to fully update a reinstallation of XP. Is that right? TIA. |

| 1353315 | 2013-09-16 00:18:00 | I'm pretty sure if you install XP as is (with no service packs), off cd, you HAVE to install SP1 first, before updating it to SP3. You don't have to install SP2 after installing SP1 tho | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

| 1353317 | 2013-09-16 00:52:00 | SP1 or SP1a if you can find them. Looks like SP1a is on the MS download site, but only the express installer. You have to stay online to get the rest of it. Only diff between that and SP1 is a doesnt have Java in it I went to other sites to find SP1 and a. So I could get the full install files. SP1a is 128097 mb, SP1 is 137,149. SP2 is 272,391 and SP3 is 324,030 |

| 1353320 | 2013-09-16 06:20:00 | I think those figures should have been KB's ;) The ISO's -- XP x86 Service Packs: SP1 = 288,550 KB SP2 = 486,762 KB SP3 = 557,932 KB The Application downloads are slightly different: SP2 = 272,391 KB SP3 = 324,030 KB |
