1330161 2013-02-28 07:40:00 Ah, but unlike other certain members who have already threatened to leave twice in the last few posts, I'm actually open to being proved wrong. If somebody can show me, why a brown person can't do exactly as I've done, and get through, then I'm all ears. Chilling_Silence (9)
1330162 2013-02-28 07:40:00 So rather than prove my perspective wrong, you're just going to pack a sad and leave? OK.... Your call, nobody is making you stay.in fairness to dave, you do change your perspective quite often, a bit like the tides really plod (107)

1330166 2013-02-28 08:05:00 Gee I miss all the fun :p Reading back on the posts theres a couple of things I see all the time.

Yes there are some people who are really struggling and cant seem to get ahead, some are in paid work others are on some sort of benefits. What really gets on my wick, is when you hear someone complain how bad off they are, yet they have all the flash toys, ( iPads, latest phones ) couple of TV's with Sky and everything else while on a benefit. This really annoys when people who do have jobs and can only just manage to pay lifes weekly bills with no extra money to spend on the before mentioned luxuries.

Some people really know "how to play" the hand out game and why should they work ( even if they could get a job) when hand-outs pay more.

Sometimes as Chill commented on you have to move to someplace within your budgets. Places Like Auckland may sound all good, but sorry Auckland is NOT NZ, its damn expensive in some places.

Pctek mentioned $290/week Rent in one post - We pay less than that per Week on a mortgage, and when paid off we have something to show for it.

1330167 2013-02-28 08:08:00 Because it has been thoroughly highjacked by the looney right.

No one else is entitled to an opinion.

Interestingly, your argument is that noone else is entitled to your opinion, yet you've broadbrushed an entire group as looney because, hey, they don't share your opinion.

Anyway, imo this thread is getting way out of hand, personal attacks and all. It doesn't have to get to that. Logical and reasonable debate is fun, throwing your toys out of the cot and getting abusive is not (but is often a sign of someone without much substance behind their argument, heh)

1330168 2013-02-28 08:58:00 whats a student wage, are you talking part time or student allowance. either way its more then the min wage now.
Ah, I found it! :D

Nah it was student allowance, like I mentioned they weren't working. I think it's like $300 a week, post-taxes. Minimum wage is over 1.5x that... My brother and I had a paper run but we got to keep that money for ourselves, it worked out at like $50-ish a month. Not bad when you're 12... :p

16 x 40 (hours) = 640 (less tax @ say 30%) = 448 - which works out to about 1.5 x 300....
