1353000 2013-09-08 23:59:00 Dont think we're allowed to tell you on here. But Youtube have changed the way you can download them now. And the program that used to work doesnt now. And the guy who made it has now stopped updating it. The brightcove vids are harder to save than the Youtube ones tho Speedy Gonzales (78)

1353002 2013-09-09 00:04:00 NirSoft's VideoCacheView can help with some types of video, it pulls them from the browsers cache. Please make sure you have the content copyright holder's permissions before reusing their work, though ;) inphinity (7274)
1353003 2013-09-09 00:35:00 When all else fails, I use LiteCam. It will record anything on your screen, in real time. If you have buffering or stuttering, it will record that too, which is a con compared to downloading a file. The other con is that it is not free :)

1353004 2013-09-09 00:42:00 the easiest - FREE (and probably best all round) is still Download Helper...

and if that's what Speedy is talking about, it does work on you tube again with the latest installer

1353006 2013-09-09 02:14:00 savemedia.com is best
If that's not working, keepvid.com is a good fallback. Both browser-based (Java), so nothing large to download.

+1 for downloadhelper... no need for "unsafe" java plugins

Works on youtube and a bunch of other sites that use flash for videos. It won't do encrypted streams (RTMP etc) though, but you need special tools for those beasties :D
