1330871 2013-03-02 02:26:00 It does indeed, esp agree with the flag change, benefit changes/work changes and transport changes. Although transport could have some issues.

I think the name change has merit in the idea (unify NZ) but everyone knows and respects NZ as it is. We don't need to re brand.

1330872 2013-03-02 02:57:00 What a load of rubbish when we can't even run the country properly as it is. What's wrong with the flag? And don't say it is confusing with Australia, or you only make obvious your lack of observation. And don't say it part represents another nation, the UK, because that's what my heritage is, as it is probably yours. And New Zealand was never called Aotearoa, even by Maori. The other ideas sound fine, but who is going to pay? And don't say the Government, because the Government has no money other than yours and mine. Richard (739)
1330873 2013-03-02 03:55:00 Yeah skipping the first two things, I'm a big fan of the rest :D
They may need to be refined a little further, but yeah.. Things like halving the social payments for people who can work but refuse jobs, my brother-in-law is receiving benefit payments because he's declined certain jobs he *could* do but they're not in his "ideal career path" or similar...

Hooked him up with an interview at Orcon back in the day before they outsourced to Manila, he never went because he didn't like the prospect of having to bus for 50 minutes each way to / from work. Didn't occur to him to get a license either... Yet he still gets his cheque every week from the Govt :(

I'm just surprised since prostitution has become legal, the government hasn't started pushing it as a legit career. Would solve half the dole problems and most of the dpb problems as you can easily work from home.
