203758 2003-12-28 10:23:00 I've been perusing the archives of PF1, and somehow ended up at something.net.nz (http://www.something.net.nz).

What I saw bewildered me, because I created an HTML Application (.hta) when I was configuring scheduled system maintenance, which looked pretty much exactly like that.

Is it just my computer, or do you all see a System Maintenance message?

203759 2003-12-28 10:30:00 Well I get that same message from that URL you gave, and this is while on my Fedora box ;\ Jen C (20)
203760 2003-12-28 11:27:00 Well I might've shared what I created, though I certainly don't remember doing so. ?:| agent (30)
203761 2003-12-28 11:37:00 Well google certainly knows about it. Enter into google "This computer has booted to perform regular system maintenance" and look at the 5th hit. Jen C (20)
203762 2003-12-28 12:18:00 I know that, what with the internet, it'd be hard to really tell who started the system maintenance thing - but here (www15.brinkster.com) is an archive of the specific files I used to create it.

I'm not sure if HTML Applications run on platforms that aren't Windows though, but they work just the same as an HTML file being interpreted - renaming the .hta file to .html would produce the same effect.

203763 2003-12-28 12:26:00 Hey thats neat.
How can I save that as wallpaper.

203764 2003-12-28 13:07:00 Print Screen?

Or if you want to do some image compilation yourself, use the included files (all available in C:\WINDOWS under Windows XP), etc.

I don't really know why I've kept it (did it last year), because I thought it was a neat idea - but Task Scheduler wouldn't run a .hta file, especially when no one was logged in - further to my point, I couldn't get the BIOS to automatically start my computer (let alone start it on every Monday).

If you just want to use Print Screen, I'd suggest running the .hta file and maximising it - that way you'll get one of the largest possible sizes, and you could resize it easily to a wallpaper size (admittedly, it might be a bit skewed).
