203587 2003-12-28 03:21:00 There is also a MS restriction for FAT32 file system of 127GB limit. Theoretically, FAT32 can go up to 2TB, but restricted by MS and they won't correct, just say to use NTFS. You could utilize partition magic to correct.
Maybe this is the problem, maybe not, just something else to keep in mind :)

203588 2003-12-28 04:06:00 FAT32 has a 132 Gig restriction if I recall correctly
you maybe need to use a 'drive overlay' program from the harddrive manufacturer (free from their website usually) to overcome this

203589 2003-12-28 11:47:00 I did thzt management thing, and I found 24.67 of unassigned gigs!!! Bringing the total to around 152 or so gigs, so it looks like the drive is OK after all. I said "NEW PARTITION" and am currently running through the wizard but just wanted to ask if this is the right thing to do.

Is there anyway to get these 24 gigs onto the 127 for one big 150 partition?

203590 2003-12-28 12:15:00 As far as I can tell, it can't be done within Disk Management.

This is where Partition Magic has it's benefits.

203591 2003-12-28 12:27:00 Pretty sure it can be done with Disk Management as I merged 2 partitions recently... the prob is that you lose all the data on the partitions doing that way.

Lo.

203593 2004-01-20 06:56:00 My 120 is 111..... but yes, i know that they fool you by redefining GB. Growly (6)
203594 2004-01-20 07:00:00 Yup so is this 120 ----> 111 GB. BUT this prob doesnt apply to hdd's < 137GB. Only over 137 GB.

So, 111 is correct.
